19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hard courts
A comeback Medvedev won his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult season, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.
His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in especial - led to him falling of the top ten and eventually parting ways with long-time mentor his previous coach.
Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
It is the player's first title after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface since March of 2023.
Victory also signifies Medvedev has won 21 championships at 21 various events.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my two daughters together, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my child her name, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six finals, comprising in that event previously this season.
Medvedev's defensive strategy and recurring emotional displays on court had led some to wonder if his ability to compete at the elite level was over.
However the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform positively, supported by an enhanced service.
The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult opponent, taking 4 of the last five exchanges to take the lead.
Both players swapped breaks in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his first tour championship, seized the initiative to create a third set.
Moutet rescued 4 initial chances in a close deciding set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev earned victory with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to handle a return after a lengthy match.
